You’re the One for Me I wrote this one live on camera. I was testing a new camera and started playing and this song came about. I thought about my girl and then how I feel when I first saw her. This is live songwriting.
I saw your face in a cloud And the blueness of the sky Made me turned my head
I felt a breeze blow by And I felt a shiver on My neck
Then I knew Then I knew Then I knew Then I knew
You’re the one for me
You’re the one for me
You’re the one-
For me
You’re so sweet
So, so sweet
I looked up from a fire And I saw your face
Flickering into the wind my desire your eyes gleamed my heart raced
Then I knew Then I knew Then I knew Then I knew
You’re the one for me You’re the one for me Yeah You’re the one- For me You’re so sweet
You’re so sweet Ohh Definitely
Cause, You’re the one for me You’re the one for me Baby Baby
I worry about you I wanted to write a blues stomp in the same vain as John Lee Hooker. It’s about an affair I had with a poet. We cared about each other but we both had/have flaws and talent. I wanted to write a song about artists pursing their art and the worries.
You’re swimming against the current never floating down stream fighting the good fight living the dream you play the blues slow and you let it flow you have style But I got to go I worry about you
Drunk romantic poet rhymes like a bass with soft full words Enthralled in her embrace She’s standing against the wind staring into space she says when she leaves I worry about you
Drunk romantic poet in a dim light moaning from the effort of getting it right bones creaking thankful still i leave and I wonder and i worry about you
the alarm is buzzing like an electric chair feel the mattress give love is in the air drunk romantic poet always in the mood i leave and I wonder And I worry about you
Love Comes and Goes This song is about working all the time and being on the road. Looking for love and leaving the next day with a kiss. Hopefully find the love of one’s life
Love comes and then it’s gone sometimes it just lingers on then your hearts in the abyss
Radio said on on a highway to hell nomadic life in a motel Each morning I leave with a kiss
Love comes and goes yeah Love comes and goes it's like honey to a bee one day I will find a friend who will love me to the end right now nobody loves me
Many times a broken heart parted ways drifted apart I’m on the road five days a week
I don’t complain i place my bet cards on the table my lips are wet for the next girl I see
Love comes and goes yeah Love comes and goes it's like honey to a bee one day I will find a friend who will love me to the end right now nobody loves me
Hope HOPE,HOPE, is a song within my heart under the moon light its been torn apart Because
Love is a rush then it’s a yawn it sure feels good, then it’s all wrong starts with a kiss
Hear the crackle of my tires and feel my heart raise with desire love me like I’ve never been hurt
Love comes and goes yeah
Love comes and goes
it's like honey to a bee
one day I will find a friend
who will love me to the end
right now nobody loves me
Someday, somebody love me
but right now nobody loves me
Repent This is a dark song about forgiveness but more importantly it’s about repentance and changing your ways or else.
The Blues is not your fault The title says it all!
Blues are on special but there're the blues best not bought Blues are on special but there're the blues best not bought Momma said the blues are never a bargain And the blues is not your fault
Momma was a street walker, daddy was a thief who didn't get caught Momma was a hooker, daddy was a thief who didn't get caught Momma told me I had the blues in the beginning But the blues is not your fault
It's not bad being sad maybe its your DNA It’s not bad being sad it could be just the day So forget what u been taught But the blues is not your fault
Momma said when your down happiness should be sought Oh when your down happiness should be sought It will be better in the morning But the blues is not your fault
They attacked me
They attacked me the wind propelled me into a ship of fools with forked tongues they surrounded me and when I spoke they attacked me they attacked me When I spoke of making peace They attacked me when spoke of making Peace Peace Peace
I went out on the street they never heard a word of what I said they shouted epitaphs threw punches at my head
my friend went to war and bleed for liberty when he came back he was angry and when he spoke they attacked him they attacked him for making peace when he spoke when he spoke of making peace peace peace
My souls a freedom rider I’m a man who stands for liberty Don’t try to box me in I’ll knock them down Because freedom wins
You say my ideas they don’t have achance i’m red white black and blue so attack me so attack me When I speak of making peace and they will attack you But one day we will have peace peace peace
Stopping by the Woods on a Snowy Evening
This is a song I wrote a long time ago. I needed words when I was younger because I had all these melodies in my head so I I turned to poetry. My favorite poet is Robert Frost so I tried to write a dozen songs with his lines as lyrics. Some worked and some didn’t. My only rule was I couldn’t change it and if I did, it had to be minor. I copyrighted it and then found out I couldn’t get permission to publish it. So I waited until 1999 but, congress extended the copyright law for another 20 years. So I waited some more and this year 2019 it expired. I don’t know why they didn’t give me permission because everyone I have played it for loves it. If you want the lyrics for this one look it up online or better yet buy one of Frost’ books
Lonely Day Laborer This is the song I wrote in Andrea Stople class at Berklee. Her influence on my lyric writing inspired the first verse and the hook. I finished the song writing about the artists I know and play with in LA. I’m a lonely day laborer who entertains his neighbors I’m not on the radio that I play I feel ignored
But my piano notes glisten but it’s only you who listens to my notes my melodies my vocal cords
Tell me what am I living for I don’t know anymore What am I living for this is what I’m living for This is This is
I play on street corners For funerals and mourners they sing the blues with me and they sing them well
I’m a Van Gogh that nobody knows playing for no pay but I hope someday it will change
I’m still a day laborer Who entertains his neighbors I’m not on the radio And I’m still ignored
Maybe you will listens One day in your kitchen My song comes on the wireless And you, u are floored
Tell me what am I living for I don’t know anymore What am I living for this is what I’m living for This is This is
A special thank you to “Bruce Garnitz’s works in progress group” Consisting of Berklee Alumni and graduates. Without that group this album would have never been made. They were the first to hear these songs and helped me polish them! Last but not least I want to thank my family, friends and fans for the support and love. As Ringo says “Peace and Love from Cali”!
